Product Description

Product Description

Designed for fine woodworking, this IRWIN Dovetail Saw is great for interior trim work and detailed work around windows. The flexible blade is also great for making flush cuts on dowels. This pull saw features a polymer handle that gives a comfortable, stable grip, even during long sessions.

From the Manufacturer

The IRWIN 213104 dovetail pull saw is great for utility work where power tools could damage surrounding materials. The dovetail saw is also a good tool for cutting shims. The pull stroke action eliminates binding and facilitates a straight cut. The induction hardened teeth stay sharp longer. Also included is a quick release for easy replacement blade changes.

A good saw, but with limits

A good saw, but with limits
I've used this Irwin saw happily for lots of things--it has a very fine kerf, is fairly aggressive without causing much tear-out, has a fairly ergonomic handle for saws of this type--but it met its match on 1/4" plywood. The picture says it all. I've used the pictured Japanese pull-saw (roughly $30) to slice through many dozens of feet of thicker plywood, but the Irwin was toothless after about 7 inches.
